Savoia-Marchetti S.55 is a seaplane that was produced by the italian factory Savoia-Marchetti. It was developed in 1924, but only marketed in 1926. Right after its launch, this seaplane established new records of speed , cargo , altitude and range. It was the aircraft selected by Commander João Ribeiro de Barros to cross the South Atlantic without scales(Nonstop), in april 28, 1927.
