AAX JFT-4 'Turbo'

1,279 ark3192  3.6 years ago

An above top secret Arcanix Air Skunkworks project. The Turbo was aptly named for its use of a very early prototype turbojet engine. This plane would go on to serve as a platform for many real planes. The powerplant was anemic compared to some other craft at the time but it laid the groundwork for an entire new era of aviation that would succeed it.

This AAX platform is unarmed but was built to be put into service if need be at a moments notice. As such the weapons bay (AG1 VTOL down) is installed and active. As well, the plane is fitted with countermeasures as losing this craft during the wars would be nearly as bad as having it stolen.

Test pilots who first flew the Turbo remarked that it felt hampered and needed to be opened up. But they also agreed that it was like flying nothing else in the sky. Trim is your friend, but when at the appropriate altitudes this thing really opens up.

Creator note: for such a simple p.o.s. plane i spent WAY too much time trying to get this to work in a semi-realistic fashion. DRAG IMBALANCE ISSUES ARE THE BANE OF MY EXISTENCE. Also..THANK YOU GYROS.
