History
Designed as the ultimate Model 606 after the initial launch of the 606 series in the 1950s, the 606K featured the latest and greatest of weapons, tech, and more. It was armed with two 0.50 caliber machine guns in the nose and had five hardpoints, two per wing, and one centerline under the fuselage. The 606K was given the name Demon II and served in small numbers in Vietnam, the Gulf War, and the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan. After finally being phased out of USAF service in 2005, some of the remaining aircraft were sold to allied nations, such as the United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada. Australia still uses five of the fifteen 606Ks that they received and are continuously being upgraded to remain relevant, though instead of being used as fighters they are now fitted for CAS operations.
