AAM-16B (Realistic Fox 2)
Hi
So this is sorta just a little mini post but I thought that this was worth sharing. I got the idea from this post to make a realistic missile. Mine works similarly but differently to this inspiration post. Mine uses a simpler release mechanism that allows for multiple missiles to be added on an aircraft so long as they are sequenced properly. The missile uses rockets for propulsion and the missile itself only for guidance. The rockets are the yeeted to Narnia by a detatcher after burning for about 3 seconds (this is the part I figured out from the original post). The missile then glides the rest of the way towards its target. The missile is based after the mid generation Aim-9s. It has a max lock range of 4 miles although you really should wait until about 3 miles or less to fire as this missile is intended only for close range combat and if launched from too far away, it will loose too much energy to effectively hit the target. If you want to put multiple AAM-16Bs on an aircraft you must find the upside-down detacher in the missile and adjust the ammo count number, right now it is at = 0 since there is only one missile. If you had three for instance you would sequence the missiles by the order that they fire. the first one would have < 3, the second < 2, and the final missile would be = 0. It is very important that this detacher goes off as it removes the burnt out rockets from the missile before they explode. This also removes the smoke trail making the missile look much more realistic. This thing was a pain to make so I hope y'all enjoy it!

@Thecatbaron sup I made use of your system a lot and even created a whole new better system, still using your code. check it out, the one that looks like a normal missile,m that I uploaded.
i mean borrow
can i steal
There’s the 💡 @vidzforlyf
@Thecatbaron wait I think I get what you wrote in the description.
@Thecatbaron thanks, although I don't know if it's just me, when using more than 2 missiles the thing messes up. like I fire the third missile and when it detaches the rocket the missile explodes plus the last missile if you have 4 on the aircraft also detaches the missile causing the firing aircraft to go funky and probably crash. do you know if there is a fix for this or should I keep experimenting with your design, till i find a fix?
Yeah, yours are awesome, but they need to be individually named for multiple to be used, then again sequencing these isn't much easier although it makes it easier to fire them during flight @vidzforlyf
hey man looks good (I'm the dude who made the original) this is awesome I didn't know how to do this, so it's nice somebody does. mine does actually have so you can add more it's just a pain in the ass so I thank you for figuring it out. I will be using this code much more.
This missile is so interesting. The simulation is very real. Thank you for making it.
Can I learn to imitate and install it on my plane
@Thecatbaron I want you to know how amazing this is and how much time it took me to hunt this post down. I tried to design a missile after taking apart yours and learning how it worked and, well, I've ended up with a poor (but functional) imitation. Massive kudos for getting it working so well, I can only imagine what you went through.
Looks and performs great man. I probably would work in MP too
Maybe an early Dassault, anyway it’s 1947-60 @Hedero
I don't think they really look the same. I'm not seeing many similarities. @RC1138Boss
They look the same right? @Hedero
Ohh true, I love the attacker @RC1138Boss
Yep, sorry, got my planes mixed up, I meant a super marine attacker. @Hedero
Isn't a sea fire a prop? It's like a maritime spitfire @RC1138Boss
U Woking with the maker? @rexzion
Or maybe an early dassault
It looks like a uk naval jet, the sea fire? @Hedero
How do you know? I'm giga curious now @rexzion
@Hedero wip
I can't help but wonder what that beautiful jet is in the picture? 🤔
