On its second run, Japanese bombers attacked the plane and shot out the top of the fuselage. The soldiers aboard took their browning 50 cal and fought back. The Japanese planes were downed and they arrived at the ruins of Pearl Harbour, having to land for repairs. The plane was then converted in to the plane you see today.
