About Trans French African Airways:
Trans French African Airways or Voie aérienne transfrançaise-africaine was an airline that was a division of air france. This specifically transported passengers from the French colonies in Africa to Paris, the base being the N'Djamena airport or at that time Fort-Lamy.

When it was founded in 1936, the airline took off from the desert. Their bases were in Mali (French Sudan), Chad, Congo, Ad So. Trans French African Airways gained success in 40’s, becoming the first Afro-French airline to succeed.

In 1950, the airline went from a poor airline to a very profitable passenger airline. In 1952, after the introduction of the Comet, the airline ordered 100 of them to replace the old DC-4s, which were very old, in 1955, the airline received the first Comet after a 3-year delay. With the Comet in the fleet the airline could take passengers to Paris more quickly.

But things got serious, since on May 24, 1957, a comet disintegrated due to a bomb in the rear of the aircraft. After that happened, the airline grounded all its comets and asked for maintenance so that this would not happen again. In 1958, the airline ordered the new Comet 4, but they arrived too late, 1959. As it says at the beginning, it operated from 1936 to 1960. and the airline closed on August 11 due to the independence of Chad, the airline hub.
