The F-16 Fighting falcon or more commonly called the Viper, the F-16 is a multi role look light light fighter made to combat enemy threats air or ground. The F-16 was born out of the F-15 overwhelming cost. That is when the Pentagon sent out a request for A cheaper alternative to the F-15. General dynamics and and McDonald Douglas being the only designs the Pentagon accepted the two companies were the final contestants, General dynamics had the YF-16 which was the soon to be the F-16. McDonald Douglas had the YF-17 cobra. Both of these engineering master pieces went head to head and the YF-16 came up on top because the YF-16 had domint controlibillty and menuverbullity over The YF-17. Then A few months later the Legandary F-16 came out it had supereror computers over the YF-16 and it had a lengthend fuselage for more fuel. You might think that this is it the F-16 became the most popular fighter while the YF-17 slowly roting away but no the YF-17 became the also legendary hornet and these two aircraft competited day 1 and to this vary day

I added A Functional targeting pod and also the most obvious feature are CFT. If you don't know what CFT's are there fuel tanks that are on the outside not the inside of the aircraft,The CFT provide longer range and rudused radar cross section bigger but they do weigh a couple thousand pound and also they are not ejectable unlike the more common wing carred fuel tanks.
