(OPEN) HeliSonic Challenge
Introduction
Welcome to the HeliSonic challenge., where your goal is to build a helicopter or any rotorcraft that can at least exceed Mach 1.
Rules for the challenge
As in every challenge, there are some rules to be followed-
1.The design and behaviour of the rotorcraft must be realistic. Any major deviation from the rules will result in a disqualification
2.Must be successor of this post
3.You can either make a helicopter or any rotorcraft with more rotors.
4.please...DO NOT STEAL (or i'll cry)
5.Max 2 entries per person per category
6.XML is allowed and expected
7.Your entry must be more than 50 parts and less than 4000 parts.
8.The description is highly recommended and it will be specified: (Introduction, Controls, Instructions)
9.You can add any kind of weapon or additional function if you like.
10.You can make a cockpit interior, If you like.
11.The post must be either a helicopter or any rotorcraft. You can add engines and wings in it, but don't make it look too much like an airplane.
12- Take your full potential into this.
Judging-
1-Flight stability
2-How fast can it go?
3-Description
4-Details of the craft
Ranking-Most upvoted is first, second in line, second, third in line, third.

Can turbofan be considered as heli rotor?
It's impossible to make something realistic that goes around speed of sound and rotates and produces thrust enough to keep itself and it's power source in air.
If you will keep "realistic" part, you can use jets (doesn't goes around speed of sound (inlet decreases speed of airflow)), ion engines and plasma actuators (can't keep it's power source in air without being very large or very long, doesn't rotates), scramjets (can't keep power source in air (produces low thrust on subsonic speeds), doesn't rotates)
@Silentrider I'm almost done hehehe😅😅
This is the problem, I don't know how to make a helicopter
I have had a thought like this float around in my mind I might enter
True @Stanmich
Hmm, this'll be an interesting challenge to tackle
@Numbers2 still not realistic the airframes are not designed for or capable of surviving mach shockwaves
This here is my Airwolf Supersonic Helicopter I shall warn you that it's an absolute pain trying to figure out how you control a supersonic helicopter in mid flight but I can reassure you that it can be achieved you just need to know how
That 1 TV show (Airwolf) @Stanmich
"The design and behavior of the rotorcraft must be realistic"
My guy helicopters can't go mach 1
Funny thing is that I'm actually working on something already. A propeller aircraft that can go like 720+ mp/h
so.. soo close
"Can be replica" bro, supersonic helicopter do not exist, lmao
@Mitaku at least 2
Interesting, may or may not enter myself, but i'm still spotlighting for other people to join
@IMULAerospaceIndustries removed that rule
“Did I enjoy it” is a bit unfair. Challenges should be purely objective and unbiased.
How many Airwolf replica will we see? Place your bets
