The Monarche Project
This is a first attempt at a fictional aircraft from a book by one of my favorite authors.
The information given leaves a bit of space for some imagination to be used.
In the book in question the name of the aircraft is 'Monarch' and it belongs to a very rich lady who is a bit of a nutjob.
It is based on a 747-400, at least this one is, as the book uses a 747 as a comparison for the size of it, stating quote "shorter front to back and wider in the body than a 747".
There is other information as well, regarding the twin tails and 6 turbofan engines, which are positioned on top of the wing to prevent them taking in water, as well as what it is carrying, plus the fact that it is capable of water takeoffs and landings.
As you can see, it doesn't look quite right, some of the proportions are a bit off and just don't ask about the nose.
Yes, you can only see 4 engines, but they are only there for the effect, they don't actually do anything except guzzle fuel because I haven't figured out how to turn off fuel usage with 'Overload' yet.
To vastly improve fuel usage, remove the motors in the wing pods, there are 2 BFE150's and 3 BFE300's in each pod, they don't actually do anything, just look pretty and provide some nice sounds.
Be aware that this will alter the flight characteristics of the aircraft, due to loss of weight.
The engines actually doing the job are buried in the fuselage behind the wing, quite low down, which sometimes causes issues with water takeoffs and as in the book, there are six of them.
For a successful water takeoff, do this;
Full throttle right away, trim for full flaps.
Wait until you reach maximum speed (about 180 mph on the water) then pull back on the stick and it should start to fly. If unsuccessful, try again, it will happen.
VTOL to bring the wing pontoons up to flight position (go down on the VTOL, pontoons will slot into position at the wing tips).
Performance is pretty ordinary, it even flies much better speed wise at around 30k altitude, just like a real 747 does.
Full plans and schematics for the 747 400 (December 2002 are what I found) are available on the interwebs.
I will eventually post all the information from the book so anyone who wants to can have a go at making the Monarch, but not until I've a really good crack at it.
EDIT: Changed part of the blurb as I got it a little bit wrong, the book uses a 747 as a comparison for size, the Monarch is not based on a 747. Also, spelling mistakes fixed.

@huaishushu2333333 This is sort of based on a 747, size wise at any rate.
The wing structure is similar, but the main wing is at the top of the fuselage instead of the bottom.
The book this is from is slowly giving up more details as I read it, so the next version may be different in some aspects.
Right now that version has actual working engines mounted where they are supposed to be. Fine tuning it is going to be a bugger. lol
