Auto Credit Based on Cailean's I was messing around.
This now gets to top speed in about 3 seconds or less.
Use the jets with the throttle and the car engines with the pitch. Let the jets get to max power and reverse a bit at the same time so you don't go anywhere and then chuck it into forwards and you are at the max ground speed within 3 seconds or less.
