MeGetEs 004 Air Cruiser
The MeGetEs was a tactical heavy bomber introduced during the late 1917, but it won't saw service until last weeks of the conflict accomplishing only 3 bombardment missions
History
Its history begins in 1916 when one of the main designers of the company makes the proposal to start the development of a new type of closed-body bomber to protect the crew from external conditions, the other three directors of the company gave their approval to start the project, so on December 18, 1916 the first prototype flew, it was discovered that it needed more thrust, but instead of putting a couple more engines, they would be replaced by the experimental Rt.D6 engines that allowed a second propeller to be installed in the rear of the engine, they also had a staggering 1000 HP. After that, the performance of the aircraft increases because the speed gained was greater than the increase in fuel consumption.
For this, a new turret operated by periscope was developed that keep the operator in littel bit more secure from the outside conditions and enemy fire, its tripulation was esstipulated to be four people but some crews desided to ad some men's more to exchange positions and rest during the longs flights.
It saw moderate service after the war but rapidly become obvious that it was no match to the newer and more advance bombers that outcompeted it in all aspects and the such easy prey for the fighters and interseptors that were develped in the pos war period
