During the Snowstone War (1975-1977) the Wright Military realized it needed an effective heavy-weight transport. The protype Four-Tons saw little service in the last three weeks of the war, transporting Pilots and Ammo to aircraft. Some were refitted for infantry use, towing the 71mm M1962 Howiter.
