Bonneville-Class Dreadnought
Take it in but don't look down...
- USS Bonneville dedication plaque
A fearsome modification to an already-impressive design, the Bonneville-class dreadnought is a powerful and durable heavy warship.
History
Originally entering service in 2370 as a Mk. V Adamant-class dreadnought, the USS Bonneville (NCC-3246) and its sister ship USS Iredale (NCC-3282) were chosen for experimental quad-nacelle modifications, and were redesignated as "Bonneville-class" ships upon completion. The singe upper nacelle of the Adamant was replaced with twin angled pylons, and the lower nacelles were angled downwards to accommodate the additional hardware and structure. Further modifications included the addition of a ventral torpedo launcher array, as well as significant internal changes within the secondary hull.
Controls
All controls can be found in the craft instructions.
Non-Lore History
The design of this craft originated in a multiplayer session several months ago. Spartan was showing off his then-in-progress Proxima-Class Battleship. I looked at it and thought, "Hmm... I wonder how the Adamant would look with quad nacelles like that."
Personally, I think the redesigned nacelle layout helps a lot to visually balance the ship. The Adamant-class looks a little nose-heavy to me, since it has very little structural area aft of the saucer. The fourth nacelle (and angled configuration) of the Bonneville-class adds a lot more weight to the rear of the ship (at least from a visual standpoint), and really helps balance out the large saucer and primary hull.
Plus it looks cool.
Changes
- Relocated and adjusted lower nacelles
- Replaced upper nacelle with two
- Adjusted paint colors (ooo shiny) and added TNG-style red trim
- Decreased warp drive power to better fit the relative distances involved in the SimplePlanes map (still really fast, but easier to use now)

@HuskyDynamics01 can you make a USS VOYAGER
Star Trek builds are always super cool, nice work!
my god, jim!
The first thing I did, accidentally hit the warp drive and immediately slammed into a mountain. Turns out that didn't agree with the new warp core, which kinda....exploded.
This looks awesome! It would fit in well with a Dominion War Federation fleet any day. It flies almost exactly like the Adamant, but packs the additional Photons and has a more manageable warp drive acceleration...except when mountains are in your flight path.
@SyntheticL Romulans???!!!?!!?!??! Why won’t those petaq’s show themselves?!???!!?
@asteroidbook345 [Insert funny Romulan noises here]
Ohh ok understandable @HuskyDynamics01
