This post is NOT about the airplane; you've seen that before... it's just my earlier Su-17 "Fitter", for the occasion in Vietnamese colors.
The Su-17/20/22 can carry a wide variety of armament; the original build had a nice loadout, but I came across the SPPU-22 cannon pod and absolutely had to make one for the "Fitter".
The SPPU-22 is a powerful late Cold War era gun pod of Soviet origin. It was developed in the 1970's for use on fixed wing aircraft and was mostly installed on the Su-17, Su-25, MiG-23 and MiG-27. The SPPU-22 has the unique feature of that can be elevated downwards. Each pod contains a twin-barrel GSh-23L autocannon with 260 rounds. At a firing rate of 3000 rpm, it's a nice strafing tool indeed!
This Vietnamese "Fitter" has a classic, no-nonsense ground attack loadout, with two SPPU-22 pods and eight FAB-250 bombs on MER's.
Controls: AG4 angles out the guns 30 degrees. You can also fire them forward of course...
The plane, in this case, is used only to present the gun pod. Why the Vietnamese livery? Because they succeeded in making the already quite ugly Sukhoi really hideous by painting it in this nauseating hospital-corridor-blue...

AG6 extends/retracts the gun... you can change that to whatever you like of course
@SimplyPlain pls pls pls. I really one to use the sppu gun pod. But the plane have too mush parts. Can you post the gun pod it self and tag me. Maybe you will get some upvotes.
