Piston Power - V 4 piston engine test plane

Tinkering around with Visify's piston engines, Ive worked out a simple way to make a "V" piston engine using fine tuner!

This is a test bed aircraft that I am using to test the engine and its support. The support has shock absorbers to reduce the torque effect the single engine has on the plane.

This plane flies weirdly and with a bit of skill you can even take off with it!

  • VTOL = prop pitch

To take off:
- Throttle up 30% put VTOL between the top 2 or bottom 2 notches depending on which direction the prop decides to turn
- Throttle up to 70%, counter the torque effect with rudder while the plane gains speed.
- Just before lift off, throttle 100%.
- Lift off, counter torque with roll and a bit of rudder, get as far away from the ground as possible.
- Fly!

Credits for the prop goes to Visify, the cylinder sections were heavily modified from one of his engines and the gears are from iwannabeelected.

I am happy that you know.

@CDRxavier it was to test the gear reduction, there always seems to be some on aero engines. it didn't work... this engine is crap tho, if you want to test stuff use the other. this one was just proof of concept.

@MethaManAircraft I am curious....why do you put a COG on top of it that seems to do absolutely NOTHING?

@Ihatelava123isacommunist hmm... hard to do on a V shaped engine but Visify has done a few non V. I'll give it a shot!
