In 1955, the USLN needed a fighter similar to the P-12. A very new company, LockMartin came to give the offer of the P-14 Comet, although slower then the P-12, the P-14 was capable of going supersonic speeds, and multirole capability. The P-14 was also one of the first aircraft to use missiles. The jet lasted from 1956-1970.
