Grumman F4F-3 Wildcat
100% Historically EXACT replica of the Grumman F4F Wildcat.
The F4F was an american fighter That uses the US Navy, The USMC and The Royal Navy in the WW2. Carrier based, well armed (Four .50 cal Browning), nicely armored and easy to fly this plane was the main fighter of the US Navy until the end of 1942.
It´s performance is nice but the japanese fighters were faster and most agile due to this the USA aces performs new tactics and formations to counteract this. One of the most famous aces on the WW2, the Liutennant Commander Jimmy Thatch used the technique that bears his name, the Thatch Weave with this plane.
This replica is painted with the CV-2 USS Lexington Schemes, and it´s the same plane that flies the Lt. Cdr. John Smith "Jimmy" Thatch in Spring 1942.
