The X-71 "Fury" was designed as a more powerful version of the Dragon to cope with more modern fighters. Capable of high speeds, extremely Maneuvrable & surprisingly poweful, the aircraft's main issue was in it's structural integrity, as Prototype 2 literally fell apart in its hangar. as a result, the program didn't make it into fulle production, but at least 1 squadron did see service in the middle east.
