F8U Crusader
so not the first crusader out there. I built it because I love the aircraft and represented a dramatic departure from what I have done in the past and presented several unique challenges in building it. . it is built to represent an early version with limited sidewinder capability to emphasize that the F8 was a gun fighter. the configuration is accurate for the first service models but you can add an extra sidewinder or other weapons on hard points without any issues. I tested it several different ways. the aircraft matches historical abilities ex vertical climb to 21000 in under a minute, can exceed 1000mph around 35000 feet etc. has variable incidence wings. in effect they function like a Combo of trim and flaps. unlike the orginal these do not have directional or rotation limits really. the actual aircraft only allowed a raise of 7 degrees but I could only limit it to 10.
