The USAF McDonnell Douglas KC-10 fleet

At most, the USAF operated 60 McDonnell Douglas KC-10 aircraft, receiving their first in 1982. After 2000, the fleet progressively dropped, with about 40 operating in 2012 and just 20 in 2023, the KC-10 had a major role in the USAF and will never be forgotten.

The aircraft, 79-1948, was a 42 year old McDonnell Douglas KC-10-10 Extender and was first delivered to the USAF in July 1982. It was the last KC-10 in service.
