The La-5 was a Soviet single-engine fighter created by the OKB-21 under the leadership of S. A. Lavochkin. A. Lavochkin in 1942 in Gorky. The aircraft was a single-seat all-wood monoplane with retractable landing gear and a closed cockpit. The original name was LaGG-5.
