*** The Convair XFY Pogo tailsitter was an experiment in vertical takeoff and landing during the 1950's. The XFY-1 took off and landed on it's tail. Because of the difficulty in landing the XFY never made it past the testing phase and was never put into production ***

NOTES--> !! operate on low physics !! The actual cockpit is located inside fuselage so cockpit view will not work. Also my pitch panels are inverted. Not sure why, but if I turn them back to normal it won't pitch. I have thrusters hidden in the front to help pitch so that could be the issue. --> also I added a generator to help give it some speed.. Fully functional w/o so feel free to remove.

**** OPERATION ****

• Activate 1 to detach from generator

• Move VTOL slider 1/2 notch forward (so prop will spin)

• Throttle to 100% and enjoy

This was one of my favorite models to build as a kid.

I love this plane. I used to use an old simulator known as flight gear (which it's still pretty good) and this was one of the planes I had downloaded into the game. As you stated it was nearly impossible to land it, especially with cross winds on runways.

I just posted an XB-42 Mixmaster, kinda a crazy real test plane that worked. @DethFromAbove

@Stingray thanks for the feedback!! I'm gonna try to take her apart and rework her to have more fuel and power and hopefully make it less fragile

Cannot get it to work on iOS, but the model is fantastic! Future project: build one that's fuel-on-board + also works, and you'll be ahead of Convair. (Note as @WeeBabySeamus has discovered, the platform affects the reviewer only. The SP model is probably testable.)

I have seen videos of this flying... But to try it out on an iPad! Very good job, my only sadness is that it came after the X PLANE challenge!

Takes off like a champ. Pretty awesome it only works on low, because I can actually fly it on my iPhone. Nothing works on this thing anymore, except this. Good work sir!

Totally cool build. It kept blowing up on restart on high physics for some reason. But, it performed well on low. This is good stuff man. Thanks for the post.

The video of this aircraft being flown in real life is mind blowing. That guys got talent, and giant brass cajones.
