US roundel by kukimuki1234
1:1 replica of the Lockheed AH-56 Cheyenne a compound helicopter that was being developed for the us army in the 60s and 70s. It had a groundbreaking ridged main rotor, thrusting propeller and wings allowing it to reach unrepresented speed for a helicopter, it also had revolutionary fire control systems. The program was canceled because of politics and friction between army and air force, and the army went with the much slower AH-1 cobra.

The fact someone thought this helicopter body was so good that they used it to make a whole ornithropter
Remake this plz, use the new heli rotor.
This is one of the most beautiful helicopters on the site!
This thing is amazing and one of the only choppers I've managed to keep in the air for more than a minute!
@RadarJamJar cool!

This is my favorite helicopter.
Incredible job on this one! Wow!
this is spectacular
@RadarJamJar ok. I modified it so that there were two props on the side of the tail as well as the prop facing the back, and it flew a bit better. Maybe try a newer model with something like that to help stabilize it? Again, really great chopper!
Noice
Thuis thing is awesome.
This thing is awesome man, really enjoy flying around in it.
@Destroyer560 Thank you. No, that is because of retreating blades moving slower and advancing blades moving faster then the aircraft, and I had no control sliders free for roll trim, sorry.
Cool! Is there a way to combat the ongoing port-side tilt? Amazing apart from that!
this is cool!
THIS FLIES AMAZINGLY WELL COMRADE!
