DMJ-10F Fury

A not-so-conventional quad-jet fighter. This is one of my older and less refined designs, which is apparent in its general look. It was originally designed for racing and aerobatics, but it was later concluded that it can in fact fulfill the fighter role very well.

Since the design was originally for sporting purposes, not much attention was given to high-altitude operation. This means the aircraft becomes progressively less agile the higher it flies due to its heavy mass and thin air. In addition, unlike the sports variant, this variant can only fly as fast as 950 mph at sea level. The weapon mounts and pylons produce quite some drag.

On the other hand, its large size and quad-engine configuration also meant it could carry far more armament than its peers, including the ability to deliver up to 4 cleavers. In addition, it is still extremely agile at below 15K feet, and evading air-to-air missiles is possible without using countermeasures if the aircraft is flying fast enough. This agility means the aircraft is hard to control, however, so get familiar with its handling before taking it out on missions.

Optimum operation altitude is between 7K-15K feet. This range gives the best mix of speed and agility.

Comes equipped with 2 Miniguns, 1 Boom 25, 2 Rocket Pods, 6 Interceptors, 6 Guardians and 6 Infernos by default.

The sports variant can be found here -> https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/X39I34/DMJ-10S-Fury

Differences from sports variant aside from weapons:
-Main wings are mounted lower to compensate for lower centre of mass
-Wing airfoil is modified
-Has lights

AG1: Parachute
AG2-4: Unassigned
AG5: Landing lights
AG6: Navigation lights
AG7: Strobe lights
AG8: Anti-collision beacon

Enjoy!

    How ironic.
The DMJ-14 would serve better as a fighter than a racer, yet it's more popular in the sports configuration...
And the DMJ-10 would serve better as a racer than a fighter, yet it's more popular in the fighter configuration!
    I'm confused.
