C-10 Penguin
2,317 COMPASS
2.4 years ago
The C-10 Penguin was designed with the purpose of being a cheap, easy to maintain reserve fighter for coastal air bases. The plane’s small size and high manoeuverability made it perfect for short range dog-fights, however, the low top speed and lack of heavy armament made it very unappealing to most pilots. Despite these drawbacks, the aircraft was able to hold its own against multiple P-51 Mustangs during a bombing run over London during WW2.
