Versatile and adept, Trinity’s FT9A Katar can be configured for a variety of roles. Its low cost, ease of maintenance, modular systems, and planned upgrades make it perfect for the widely varied air guards that make up the MAF. Able to quickly flow from one role to the next, the Katar is the backbone of the MAF, forming a common base among most air guards and supplementing larger, more complex crafts. Katars are used in roles such as interceptor, SEAD, strike, reconnaissance, air superiority, and limited exposure as an anti-shipping platform.
Conceived in response to a request for proposal put forth by the Kunz Lordship, the Katar was always aimed towards dominating the continental export market.
Special negotiations between the Trinity Conglomerate and the Kunz Lordship. As the program matured.
The aircraft was sold at a loss, less than it was worth, to regain Trinity and Kunz’s market control.
The FT9A Katar is a product of the David Hill Treaty Loophole and thus was primarily marketed towards the Militia Air Forces. The legal standing Air Force briefly evaluated the Katar as a trainer or supplement to more expensive aircraft but ultimately declined the type as the aircraft already in their limited inventory were deemed sufficient.
Over (number here) Katars were produced, arming various lordships’ air guards and some even being exported. It was another great success for the Kunz Lordship both in the continental export and international markets.
