Based on the F-5 Tiger and used mainly by the U.S. Air Force for jet training, the venerable Talon has remained in service for over 50 years with no replacement in sight. The T-38 is a small, nimble, and capable training platform ideal for the new fighter jock. The T-38 is also used by the air forces of many other countries, and by NASA for tests. This is a trainer aircraft, as such it doesn't have weapons.

The F-5 was actually the one seat deriviative of the T-38. Yea, it dosen't sound right but it is.
