FAC C-51 Bixler

The "Bix" was a World War Two Cargo Plane. The RAF, and the USAF, asked FAC (FearlessAce Corp.) for a Cargo plane that was good at diving, had good energy retention, and at least held more than 6 troopers. FAC answered with there new model C-51. The FAC normally made maneuverable fighters, so this was a big leap for them. Four licensed built Pratt and Whitney 2400hp Wasp engine powered the plane to a speed of 701 mph, at 10,000 ft. A C-51 Pilot was interviewed after flying in the Bixler after 5 trips to Normandy...

She flies like a dream, you could probably treat it as if it were a fighter. Except the crew won't be able to handle the 'G's' back there.
The only flaw with this plane is landing. You've got to stall it and retract the flaps Asap to land, or else you'd bounce and over-run there like my friend Jim.

A C-51's Airframe is able to withstand 13 Static G's, and doesn't break easily. The 'Bix' is armed with 3 .50 cal guns, paired with untrained gunners. It was dicountinued after the Vietnam war. (RAF had 243, while USAF owned 709)
