Bartgeier_ [96 Parts Challenge]
Hi.
This is my entry for the 96-part challenge. I built it to be fun for dogfighting. It features a working fully automatic rear gunner (though some of the code for the rotators isnt mine
, to be clear. though I can't remember where I got it from). Be careful, the rear gunner and the pilot can get sniped! I really enjoyed painting it for some unknown reason. I actually decided to build a WW1-style fighter because I admire the paint jobs some of them have. You can try to design your own paint job, and make sure to tell me which of the three I made you think is the prettiest (or the least ugly).
chose your flyer:
green one
Blue one
Water version
This is how you fly:
Activate 1
does absolutely nothing, and so does
Activate 2.
Activate 3
isn't connected to anything, and from there on, it gets boring... so
no activation groups.
The gunner:
To use the rear gunner with its auto-aim, you will need to press the button between the pilots. This activates the Autoshoot function. When Autoshoot is active, the rear gunner fires on its own, and your front guns will automatically fire when there is a chance of hitting the enemy.
For a fair match
, you can also activate the rear gunner of your enimy by pressing the button on the opponents plane (yes, that works). Get a close flyby, pause the game, and click the button of the enemy once.
Of course, you can also play as the gunner. As soon as you are sitting in the back, you control the gun movement with your camera movement.

Very nice plane
good ol' days
@SrUrso, thank you!
Ficou massa cara
SO COOL
You shall win
Excellent 10/10
@AuroraPlanes, Oh, sorry, I forgot to remove that on the blue one, I made it so the engine only activates after the airspeed is greater than some value. To fix that, go into the XML settings of the prop, then to input control, and change the activation group from 'IAS>10' to '0'. Alternatively, you can fly one of the other two (sorry I forgot to take that out).
Engine isn't working
Yes, the stickers are very cool too
@CrazyCatZe check out my new boat's Aft.
@Kerbango,thank you and Feel free to use anything. Yes, I have heard of the historical documentation of 'Indiana and the Jones.' What a pity they didn't have the revolutionary "rudder-avoiding munition".
I am going to download this and then "steal" your stickers. Credit to you, now. (Cuz I won't remember who later.)
It flies very nice, I enjoy everything about it. 👍🏻
One thing though...concerning the rear gunner...have you ever seen Indiana Jones "The Last Crusade"
@WinsWings, thank you! and great that you noticed the cartridges
@CrazyCatZe it's truly amazing to fly. The machinegun was well tuned to the historical accuracy. Nice touch with the old cartridge release. I am enjoying it. Good luck with the challenge. I am following you now
@CrazyCatZe the way you use custom symbols make it way more insane.
@LunarEclipseSP, those improve the looks so much!
@WinsWings, I hope you'll enjoy it
@RepublicOfCursedPlanes, it was a struggle, I had a few more "experimental" details on these, but those involved really odd intake slicing, so I took that out
@ToeTips, maybie I don't know how to tag...that would explain why the mods are never responding....
@DatMaluchGuy19, thank you so much!
The pattern livery is looking insane!
Wow what a great one. Thanks for joining
