The MV New Audacious of Ocean Network Line is a newly built passenger roro ferry and is the first ever vessel of Ocean Network Line to be Powered by Liquefied Natural Gas(LNG).She was built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Fukouka in 2025 and arrived in the Philippines soon after.She is currently assigned in Manila-Cebu-Ozamis-Iligan and vice versa.

Ship History

Ocean Network Line in 2023 was seeking to acquire more vessels such as ferries that can boost transportation connecting islands.This includes finding acquiring new vessels from Europe and Asia but none were successful.An idea was made after acquiring different vessels from foreign countries was unsucessful they decided to build new vessels that can replace their older and unreliable vessels.The project became the LNG ferries of ONL since they wanted to use LNG to reduce emission and save fuel efficiently

The design phase began in 2024 with the plan of building a new large ropax ferry to fill the role of replacing the older vessels in the fleet.The design was based off on the Sunflower Murasaki but smaller that can fit into Philippine ports.

Construction phase began in the 3rd quarter of 2024 and was launched in February of 2025.She was named as the MV New Audacious the first ever LNG ferry of Ocean Network Line.Her sistership the MV Auspicious was launched in May and will soon to enter service in the last quarter of 2025 while their bigger predecessor is expected to be launched in November.
