Great Peter Bell (Remastered)
Finally remastered after 1 year.
Weighing in at 11 tonnes it was the third biggest bell in Britain when it was cast in 1927.
The colossal E-flat bell was transported by road from Loughborough and made several stops on its journey so it could be admired by the crowds.
It arrived safely on September 20th 1927, and was warmly welcomed with a special service where it was handed over to Mr. Green, Clerk of the Works at the minster. It remains there today in full swing and is the largest manually-swung bell in Britain.
