The L&N CA-1 was the first aircraft L&N ever produced. It was outdated by 1939, seeing as it was slow and sluggish as compared to the JU-88 A4. However, out of desperation, England turned it into a bomber, renamed as the CAB-1, as it could hold a large payload. In 1942, the Air Ministry mounted a FB.1 on a CAB-1 and turned it into a flying launchpad. This version remained in service until 1950, when other, better aircraft became available.
The FB.1 was a flying bomb developed by L&N Special Projects Division (L&NSPD) for the Air Ministry for the war against Germany. The bomb was originally intended to be a short range solution to the accuracy of the unguided bombs, but testing showed that it could go ~10 miles. In 1942, Germany started getting hit by “phantom bombs”. 89% of all FB.1’s hit within 0.5 miles of their target. 11,178 were produced from 1942-1946. 1,116 remain today, in ether storage or museums. The FB.1 was retired in 1964
NOTE: THIS AIRCRAFT DOES NOT USE ANY 1.9 PARTS!
