Take off from a vertical position simply with Thrust. Armed with cannons.
If you want it to glow bright daytime and dark (any color), spray it the color you wish and put the metallic slider to zero (with my xml setting). I notice many use a negative opacity to achieve glowing parts. However this limits the colors, and they don't actually correspond to the paint color choice. The method I use is a huge positive opacity @ 7-10.
