L Class Torpedo Boat Destroyer is a group of 11 Torpedo Boat Destroyers built by the Shaterlot Navy in 1810 towards 1816. They are the second class product of the Shaterlot plan to build a new ships that can protect their Heavily Armored Ships.

History

The success of Torpedo Boats increased its influence to other countries, thus Torpedo Boats are getting larger and larger at the time. Shaterlot Naval Intelligence was one of the nations to develop such early Vessels. They needed a warship that is similar in speed and maneuverability of a Torpedo Boat. This lead to the project K. The Project Ks saw great performance fending off Torpedo Boats of it's size. Although praised by the Shaterlot People, Navy personnels who were on board the Ships were disappointed in the Ships handling capabilities. They were fast and maneuverable but lacks the stability to perform such movements in rough seas, this were witnessed in the ship SN K-06 which lost balance at sea during Hurricane Howard. Even the Duke itself wasn't satisfied with it's handling capabilities. So this was corrected on it's successor, the L Class. L Class features a larger Hull and new Main Guns. They retained the same bridge and other structural layout of the ship and they were faster.

Service History

The first ships, L-01-L-07, served for the Main Fleet and the Monsetorri Fleet, the newest Fleet of Shaterlot Navy. Like the previous class, they screened heavier Armoured Ships while fending off most of the Torpedo Boats that were attempting to close in. Unlike the previous class they were able to show the maneuverability of their ships while riding the rough seas although they were still complaining on it's performance. On their service, 5 were lost all of which in the 1st War of Coalitions. They served from 1810-1829 and retired. Only L-08 was preserved.
