SE5A
A representation of the SE5A flown by Major C E M Pickthorn MC in 1918 and famous for downing a Fokker DVII over Chimay Belgium. This plane used a Vickers machine gunner a gun designed to synchronise with the propeller blades. Sadly in my model it’s flight is slightly off as the synchronised gunner was beyond my build quality but a mini gun inside the propeller nose did perfectly. Another addition was the fact I added real landing gear just for a smooth take off. This plane has inverted itself so to go UP PULL UP to go DOWN PULL DOWN sadly if this plane rolls to far it loses all control and spirals down you can roll about 30 degrees safely or yaw. I spent ages building this after I was gifted a beautiful model SE5A. And a random fact these were considered SPITFIRE OF WW1
