This is a Cata-Plane(not to be confused w/ a Cat-Plane, hey that's an idea!), it is a catapult mixed with a plane. The controls for the plane are normal. For the catapult you VTOL down, then press the activation groups in this order 1, 2, 3. To fly the plane you h virtual reality games with controller have to do the previous steps except bring VTOL back to center and press activation group 4, then take off and fly as usual.
