The Me 509 was based on the earlier design the Me 309 a new fuselage was designed and recieved a pressurized cockpit though the main problem is that the nose gear often broke, so when the Me 309 development stopped the Me 509 was also stopped, though it inspired the later Yokosuka R2Y Keium built in Japan
