CLOSED 1931 Schneider Cup Challenge
This challenge is from the 1931 edition
I feel that Schneider Cup planes were the most important of the 20th century, because without them, the advances in aeronautics that made aircraft so fast would never have been made.
They were the fastest racing planes in the world!
So why not make a challenge?
RULES
•The design of the plane must be based on something from the early 1930, like a open cabin.
•You must create a story about the design of the plane, and include some company as a manufacturer
•Although I encourage fictional planes, replicas are allowed.
•Must have a minimum of 125 parts, and a maximum of 400
•Must be able to fly in low physics
•Must have a cockpit
•Must be a seaplane
•No XML drag and mass removal (although it can be removed from custom wings, decals and other decorations), the maximum engine power is 1000hp, If you have two engines, each should have 500hp.
•I will test your plane on a Krakabloa-Wright course
POINTS
Of course, the speed of the plane 0/10
How realistic is the plane? 0/10
The description describes well the plane? 0/10
Does the plane fly well? is it stable? 0/10
Is there anything I liked about the plane? 0/5

@CriticalAir sorry, but this Challenge is closed
I know it's in "July" but it was supposed to be "June"
I got confused with the months (remembering I'm not a native English speaker)
@7 @Jabuticaba23 @Phoebe
I updated the rules
@CriticalAir No problem, maybe I'll do another Schneider Cup challenge, since there are very few planes of this type on the site
I also plan to put in smarter rules, which would not scare away more entries
@Dragoranos, dang, I could have posted by then. I just took extra time. Ahh well. I'll be posting it anyway...
Thanks for this challenge, I never thought to create this kind of airplane before. A new contender is coming!
@winterro
Sorry but no
@U can you use jets with power xml edited to 0 to enhance the sound of your aircraft?
Need to resubmit.
@MemrWii Can be removed from custom wings, which add a lot of weight to the plane
@Xamesria27
The rules say that mass and drag can be removed from decoration, so you can
I assume I am allowed to remove mass and drag to the VTOL engines and nozzles since it's not really meant to improve any statistics?

AMERICA BABY
distant M16 shots
why no mass removal? its what makes Seaplanes, seaplanes. Also a wooden racer Seaplane wouldn't weigh 4500 kg,i feel like this rule is useless 😞
@Potatz
You can, as long as they don't produce thrust.
And you couldn't reduce the mass, sorry
another question, the plane im replicating has a mass of 2722kg, but mine is over 4000. Can i xml it to be exactly the mass of it?
@U is it alright if I use VTOL nozzles for tailpipe fire and smoke effects?
@Potatz I am aware of this.
Problem is, 1900hp would be ridiculously powerful for SP, remember that realism counts here too
A 1000hp engine is more than enough to propel a relatively aerodynamic plane to 550kph
so im participating in this challenge with the supermarine s6, but according to this https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/925456037144821921/971053596454056027/unknown.png it says that it has 1900hp, you can check for yourself, so what do i do now exactly?
@MemrWii
No, sorry.
In my challenges, I refer to "Twin engines" as how many engine parts your plane has.
That means if for some reason you want to make a plane with two engines attached to a single propeller shaft, I would count it as single engine in the challenge.
Summary: In the challenge, I consider a twin-engine aircraft to have more than one engine block
but two engine blocks would still perform better as more propellers still produce more thrust
im making a Contra rotating configuration,and each prop is set to 960~ hp. Is that ok?
@MemrWii thx :)
YES THIS IS THE BEST CHALLENGE ON THE SITE
@BeefSupreme Make a fictional manufacturer
For replicas I don't even need to answer
When you say to include a company as the manufacturer do you mean a real company or to make up a story of a fictional company?
Never mind, setting the mass so low messes with the buoyancy
