Aichi D7A Rose

My entry to the WWII Bomber Challenge: This plane is fictional, and the story is made up, but enjoy. Aichi was having a good time with their D3A Val carrier-borne dive bomber, but the Imperial Japanese Navy needed a replacement, one that was more accurate, better to control in a dive, and still be carrier worthy. Aichi would go on to develop the D7A, Allied code “Rose”, to replace it. Keeping the fixed landing gear for simplicity, they gave the D7A an upgraded engine, 4 forward mounted 7.7 mm MG’s, 2 in the cowling and 2 in the wings, as well as improved dive breaks (AG 2 and VTOL up) and a bomb trapese (AG 2 and VTOL up) to clear the propeller while in a dive. The wings fold for carrier stowage (AG 3 and VTOL down) and the tailhook (AG 1) is calibrated for an easy landing on the carrier. Notes: be sure to pull up to around 70 degrees to ensure the bomb doesn’t swing around, also the rear gunner is on a loose swivle, so it will swing around as you fly, but you can easily modify if wanted. Have fun and enjoy the dive bombing fun as you fall towards your target and release an accurate blow.

Oh yeah, it’s basically standard on most dive bombers, like the Ju-87 Stuka and Helldiver, helps slow the plane and make it controllable in a dive, then the trapeze lets the bomb clear the prop arc@OFFWORLDSHRIMP

@SchadeAircaftCompany this is like my second or third day playing and your plane was the first i saw with the breaks and trapeze. Before today,i didn't even know real planes had them

Lol thanks, I’m definitely not the first or best at a bomb trapeze and dive breaks, but I think they are fun to play with @OFFWORLDSHRIMP

Im not gonna lie, at first i was kinda disappointed by the quantity of bombs.... and then i looked closer at the thing holding the bomb. I saw activation group 2. I pressed the play button, got into the air, activated group 2, and pulled up the vtol bar...AND MY JAW DROPPED. I love this plane and everything about it.

@ KnightsOfRen Thanks, I wanted to make an easy to download and fly plane, with enough detail to look nice.
