Description
Equinox is an aircraft developed with a single role in mind: to be able to reach a high altitude quickly and have enough firepower to destroy whatever it encounters there. To meet those goals, the Helios Engineering aerospace corporation used some rather unconventional approaches.
First, an experimental engine was used. Since a ramjet can provide exceptional high-speed performance but lacks the ability to start from the ground, a high-pressure air tank is utilised to give it enough accelerated air before reaching a speed at which it can function normally. This provides great top speed and acceleration, but sacrifices throttle control and makes the aircraft very vulnerable in a stall.
Second, a 100mm caliber cannon is used as a primary weapon. Its rounds are programmed to explode near the target, making aiming easier. Its high rate of fire makes it vulnerable to overheating, which necessitates a dedicated cooling system that takes some time to start up.
The Solaran Air Force only operates a few I-1s, as their usage is very limited and the experimental cannon and engine have high maintenance costs. This thing cannot be realistically used as an air superiority fighter because of its low maneuverability and lack of AA missiles
Instructions
To start the engine, first you need to pressurize the air tank (AG1). When tank pressure reaches at least 30%, you can disable AG1 and activate the engine by bringing the throttle to 100%. Once the aircraft reaches 360km/h, the engine can function normally.
To shoot, press Alt (or FireWeapons on mobile). The cannon cooling system will take about a second to start, then you can start shooting

Nice plane .
@MizeaO i wonder how comfortable the pilot must feel when shooting..
@Seeras thanks!
Identify as pilot sitting on auto cannon that big ramjet attached to it AKA fighter jet.
@UltravioletBlood
Sure :)
@Seeras , can you please make this a successor to @DrakonDynamics 's fighter challenge? (https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/ZrQ372/Modern-Fighter-Challenge-Novaran-Edition)
