Aeromotive 40D
Overview
The 40D maintains a delicate balance between speed and reliability. It's much faster than conventional prop racers, yet slow enough to be in the reliable zone. To obtain maximum acceleration, the aircraft is launched by a 1400HP FLS (Flyover Launch System).
The Flyover Launch System
The system keeps the aircraft from striking the ground and accelerates it to approximately 60 mph in under a second. After the starting process, the system throws itself out of the way of the aircraft and disintegrates.
Propulsion
The aircraft uses a 3000 HP prop setup to quickly boost the aircraft to 755 mph. After that, a single jet engine buried in the fuselage further increases speed.
