History

The F.T.R.C. 187 was one of the first jet powered combat aircraft designed by RNP in the 1960s. It used two powerful engines, and included an afterburner, after it was decided that it was also to play a fighter role. With its full attack payload, it was fast, but lacked maneuverability. One it got rid of it though, it was agile, and could hold its own against other fighters. Overall, it proved to be a moderately successful aircraft, and ended production in 1979. It would go on to serve in many places until 1987, though, with 1450 models produced.
