X-269 / Tymitz model 1109
Fictional Interceptor
The Tymitz Model 1109 came about at the end of the Mach 3 era. As the bomber race intensified, new bombers on both sides continued to fly faster and higher, constantly requiring the ISAF to field newer dedicated long-range interceptors. Model 1109 was one of many designs explored by Tymitz in response to an ISAF request for proposal. Following the trends of the day, internal weapons bays and a unique wing shape promised a speed upwards of Mach 2.6. Also following the trends of the day, the new engine that would power this aircraft saw several delays and other issues in development. No prototypes were built, and Tymitz cut the program in favor of other designs.
Model 1109 died alongside its brothers and an entire generation of Mach 3+ interceptors that never escaped the drawing board. This aircraft is a prospective look at what the Model 1109 could have been had it seen ISAF service, boasting the colors of the Concord ANG.
