Description

the Jaguar Arms Corp. S13C ARV I 'Fighting Puma' is the Armoured Reconnaissance Vehicle variant of the S13C, itself being an upgraded and updated version of the previous S13B AMV and S13A AMV (previously known under Jaguar Arms designation as J.013B and J.013A respectively). The S13C serves in multiple militaries, primarily that of the Federation of Sosevea and the Republic of Vikendi. In Sosevean Defence Force service, the S13C ARV I is a relatively new piece added to the Sosevean arsenal, and as such - as well as taking its role into account, sees service in growing numbers in the Observation Wing of the Armoured Corps.

History

In early 2020, the Sosevean Defence Force Board of Equipment saw a decreasing performance in the S13A. Despite its relatively new introduction into Sosevean military service, the S13A and S13B were found to begin to lack potency with the rising potential for a near peer conflict. Though the S13A and S13B served well in Afghanistan and would until the Sosevean withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan in mid 2020, the shifting strategic focus of the SDF required that Sosevean Army vehicles be upgraded.
In this shift, the board decided that it was about time that the third variant, the S13C be introduced. Due to the recency of the S13B however, funding was scarce for the project. It would only be in mid 2022 that the first prototype of the S13C was produced and presented, after rising pressure geopolitically gave renewed need to the project. By early 2023, the S13C hit the production line, and the first variant to be produced was the S13C ARV I. This choice was to observe the mobility of the S13C in general as a platform, and to later consider in late 2024 using the S13C ARV I as the standard infantry Armoured Wheeled Vehicle. Though, like many conversations of standard military equipment overhauls, high unit cost is the key factor pushing against this unrealistic transition for the SDF.
In exercise and in limited combat usage, the S13C ARV I has proven to be a highly mobile, effective and deadly light vehicle. Doctrinal thinking as well as design lessons learnt from Afghanistan , combined with new near-peer oriented thinking from Sosevean Defence think tanks have made way for the S13C ARV I to become a successful piece.
