Sukhoi Su-67

Contains lore from Multiverse Worldbuilding, a SPRP

Origin

The Sukhoi Su-67 was designed in the New Soviet Union to be a 5th generation, multirole stealth aircraft to provide the Red Air Force with a modern and capable aircraft at a lower cost than the F-35s already in service. The first indigenously designed aircraft in Air Force service, the Su-67 quickly proved to be highly effective and was put in serial production.

Aside from the NSU, the aircraft is operated by the East African Republic who acquired 120 airframes to replace its ageing F/A-18 fleet.

Specifications

General Specifications:
- Top speed: Mach 2.2
- Range: 5000km (A2A refueling possible)
o 6000km with 2 external fuel tanks
- Service ceiling: 65,000 ft
- G limits: +9.0

Avionics:
- AN/APG-81 AESA radar
- AN/ASQ-239 Electronic Warfare System
- AN/AAQ-37 DAS sensor system
- AN/AAQ-40 Electro-Optical Targeting System
- AN/ASQ-242 CNI suite
All sensors and systems are designed with intercommunication to give the pilot a cohesive view of the local battlespace.
The AN/ASQ-239 system is capable of detecting and jamming enemy radar systems.

Capabilities:
The aircraft has a heavily reduced RCS, equivalent to a tennis ball, which is achieved through stealthy design, RAM coating over the whole aircraft and internal weapons bays.

3D thrust vectoring engine nozzles are included, which alongside the design of the control surfaces, allows for supermaneuvrability.

Air to air and air to ground configurations are possible, with the weapons bay able to hold 6 R-111B Venom II ALRAAMs for A2A operations, and 4 Sea Breaker cruise missiles, 2 Kh-58U ARMs or 8 GBU-32 JDAM guided bombs for ground attack missions.

Cockpit:
- Fully glass cockpit, with 3 LCD touchscreen displays on the instrument panel, one for CNI information, one for flight instruments and aircraft management and one for weapons information and targeting. There is no HUD, instead the relevant information is projected onto the pilot’s helmet visor. This includes standard flight information, radar data, and any warnings from the sensors. Missile locking is done via the helmet
- Side panels feature 2 more screens for engine management.
- HOTAS controls are present, with fly-by-wire controls. Thrust vectoring is toggled via a button on the throttle for ease of use.

Controls

Flight – Standard controls
Toggle Thrust Vectoring – AG7
Be careful when this is active, pulling tight maneuvers can result in spins or stalls, although it’s able to recover.
Open Canopy – AG1

The cockpit is not functional, except for the open canopy switch. The main purpose is to look cool
