The Gladius is a guided missile that carries 20 MIRB (Multiple Independently targetable Regular Bombs) warheads. The large number of sections making up the nose act as a crumple zone, meaning that even if you hit something head-on, the bombs are unlikely to go off immediately, giving you time to pause the game before 20 bombs going off together cause lag or a crash.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
VTOL up to raise the missile into the firing position.
AG1 to arm missile.
Landing gear to launch.
AG8 to toggle pitch sensitivity.
Normal flight controls.
Air-to-ground mode to arm MIRB launcher, 'fire' to launch warhead.
