The Saetta or in Italian, "lightning" is an Italian prop fighter produced in the beginning of WWII. It was Italy's first modern low wing monoplane that had featured retractable landing gear, stressed metal skin and a glass cockpit with an excellent view. This at one point was the pinnical of Italian fighter designs before Macchi's Centauro series came about in the 1940s.
