Background:

In 1953,a need for better fighters was starting to become significant,as the SCAF still used 1940s Propeller fighters.
The MAVC (Military AViation Committee) suggested the development of a jet fighter being on the same level as other jet fighters.
The Project started with a subsonic light fighter bomber, but the MAVC quickly realised that it needed a super/transonic one.

With a angled tip (containing a camera) shock cone and a more powerful engine than the D.M.S. M.R.16, the D.M.S. M.R. 24G it was able to break the speed of sound the 29th October 1954,at 1450~ kph at the Altitude of 12900 m.

The armament is 4 D.E.A.S. MA.7 AtA Missiles ock and Maintain) and 4 D.E.A.S. RS.6C

The name CMAQ is the first designation being part of the 1954 Designation System.

CMAQ means: Caccia Medio ad Alta Quota
