I have no idea what to put here
once WW2 was over, alot of recovered Axis equitment was sent to the United States. when work on the new T29, T30, T34 tanks began, the army needed a tank with transition strong enough to support the turret. alot of random testing tanks later, they found the Panthers they had received had strong enough suspension. and so one was given a T29 turret. turns out the turret is too big for the tank, so the army modified the tank to fit the turret. once testing the T29 turret ended, the tank kept the turret and modifications. over the tanks lifetime at the M49, parts of the tank were given extra armor plating for litteraly no reason. in 1954 the tank became a testbed for new technology and weapons. well uhhh in 1960 something, the tank was sent to the Vietnam war. it survived and was sent to a tank museum.
oh yeah btw the turret is randomly super weak in spots, there is nothing I can really do but add extra armor plating. have fun :D
