F/A-24B Peregrine
A multi-role fighter to its core, the F/A-24 series is capable of defeating multiple defensive and offensive systems without relying on countermeasures with the utilization of a stable airframe, with purposefully destabilizing flight control surfaces enabling a very rapid conversion from a Mach 3 flight configuration, to a subsonic, 30 degrees per second turn dogfight mode. This system was first tested on the XF-24, which utilizes high AOA control surfaces across the fuselage length to deflect more air than a standard lifting wing/tail configuration, and thus have more control on the aircrafts flight. This is as close as you can get to a Super-Maneuverable aircraft without altering engine thrust via ducting vanes. Straight from the blueprint, the Peregrine comes with two articulated gun mounts with are steered to move as the aircraft maneuvers. You pull the nose up, the guns move up to intercept the target if you overshoot.
Controls:
AG1: Toggles RAM jets, enables Mach 3 flight and high G turns at low speed. NOTE: IF PROCEEDING ABOVE 1150 MPH, DISABLE THE HIGH G FLIGHT MODE. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THIS INSTRUCTION WILL RESULT IN UNCONTROLLABLE OSCILATION AND POTENTIAL DAMAGE TO THE AIRCRAFT.
AG8: Toggles High G Flight Control System. This system controls the canards and horizontal control surfaces, and will lock them in their set position, so ensure the control stick is centered before toggling this control. It can also be used as a trim setting if the standard trim wheel is not sufficient.
